Doesn’t sort by ID

I have just installed a new wordpress. But know when I make a new post, this post doesn’t come on top but below ! Were can I change the order of these topics ? I already tried trough the query_posts but that doesn’t work with orderby=ID&order=DESC… So how can I make it that he will go from the highest ID to the lowest ID.
