Hi @dazman88 ,
There isn’t an explicit product spec for composite products in Google merchant center, unlike other products such as Product Bundles which are supported and has a spec.
Composite products are customizable product kits that require a user input during purchase, such customizable products don’t really make for a transparent pricing in ads, as the pricing varies based on the customizations/user choices, which could be another reason with these not be available for sync.
Variable products also have multiple price points, so I don’t see why this would be an actual issue. Purchase happens on website, not through google and manual mapping of composites also works, so I’m afraid this is a poor excuse for not supporting your own product types.
Hi @dazman88,
Variable products also have multiple price point
True, but looks like you misunderstood my point. The price of the composite products can change from X to X+N based on the add-ons and customizations a user makes. So a DSLR kit can be $2000 at base, but with options it can be $7000. It would be false advertising if one ran an ad for this product at $2000 or $7000 because some add-ons may or may not be optional.
Variable products don’t have such customizations on price changes. A large T-shirt will always be at a set price just like the small t-shirt.
manual mapping of composites also works,
I’m curious, could you share a screenshot of how the composite product is mapped in Google merchant center manually? Is it set as a product bundle or something else?
Please do note that we try our best to ensure products sync the way Google merchant center is designed, for compliance reason and not the way WooCommerce can handle things.
