Support » Plugin: SSL Mixed Content Fix » Doesn’t allow External HTTP Links, Support Lacking

  • pracko

    This plugin was great for resolving mixed content issues when I switched to HTTPS. It also helped the site load faster. But the reason I only give it two stars is because it forces external HTTP links to HTTPS, which is no good for SEO. Yes, there are still other websites out there not on HTTPS (in my case, it was a link to a government site — no https, can you believe it!?) Also, the plugin’s developer seems to be MIA and does not respond to support questions anymore. If there was an option to EXCLUDE specific URLs, this plugin would really rock, but as of now, it’s lacking the feature set and support that would otherwise make this a truly great plugin.

    Dear @pracko, we’re sorry you faced issues in the past. But now ownership changed and we made A LOT of improvements.

    One of them is that there is now a proper settings page with an option to ignore URLs on the plugin’s settings page.

    Could you please update plugin to latest 3.1 version and let us know if you still face any issues? If everything works, it would be fantastic if you could update your rating to reflect the latest developments. It would make us very happy and motivate us to keep improving it 🙂 Thank you!

    Plugin was great but does not work anymore for the user login part.

    So browsing the website works fine except https://yourwebsite/wp-login.php
    then the username and password are not accepted.

    The only fix i am aware of is to use https://yourwebsite/phpmyadmin and edit wordpress->wp_options->siteurl and ->home
    both into http://localserver/

    Then i can login to my website and edit stuff.

    Can you please fix this ? this used to work fine.

    Everything works fine if you also remove hard link in style sheet of wordpress

    This one:

    <link rel=”stylesheet” href=”/wp-admin/load-styles.php?c=0&dir=ltr&load%5B%5D=dashicons,admin-bar,common,forms,admin-menu,dashboard,list-tables,edit,revisions,media,themes,about,nav-menus,wp-pointer,widgets&load%5B%5D=,site-icon,l10n,buttons,wp-auth-check&ver=5.2.1″ type=”text/css” media=”all”>

    Now the plugin can only be used for users and not for the administrator …

    Thank you ! 🙂
