    I am not an IT person at all, need help.

    I strongly discourage you to use Multisite then. If you aren’t already familiar with WordPress, you’re jumping off the 10 meter dive on your first day swimming. THIS WILL BE HARD.

    Still wanna do it? Okay πŸ™‚

    However, after enabled multisite by editing wp-config.php, no change on tools menu, Network Setup was not there.

    Where in the wp-config.php did you add the line and what exactly did you add?

    Mika, thank you for your reply.

    Where in the wp-config.php did you add the line and what exactly did you add?

    above the line /* That's all, stop editing! Happy blogging. */
    I first added the following line:
    define( 'WP_ALLOW_MULTISITE', true );

    Saw no Network Setup showing on tools menu, I replaced the added line with what suggested in WP Codex:

    /* Multisite */
    define( 'WP_ALLOW_MULTISITE', true );

    Still, no Network Setup showing on tools menu…

    What did you use to edit the wp-config.php file?

    Make certain your updates to wp-config.php were committed and refresh your browser session.

    Hello, same problem as capthong. In order to edit the wp-config.php file, I used filezilla and the result : I cannot access any more my wp-admin. Can someone help me please?

    Rojuillet – What text editor?

    WordPress 3.8.1

    That’s not a text editor.

    I mean did you use NotePad, NotePad++, DreamWeaver, TextWrangler, Atom…?

    I’m actually having a similar issue.

    I originally had multisites set up, ended up deleting all but one and just never got around to the hassle of uninstalling the multisite function.

    After 3.8.1, the Network Admin settings disappeared and I need to update the space available on my one site that was of the original multisites.

    I’ve got a pretty good handle on editing the .php files, if someone can point me to updating the size alone in the specific .php file I can do that.

    Otherwise, eventually I’ll back everything up and just perform a wipe of the install and reinstall WP and my theme and reimport my data.

    Thanks!

    I think I figured my problem out, it’s a mess. I think the htaccess file got updated when my host forced out an update. There’s a really complex setup for the htaccess file for a conversion MU site. I’m almost better off reinstalling that continuing to edit all my php manually.

    It’s a NotePad, sorry for answering so late.

    Very interesting and useful tips I think.I read step by step this informations and help me so much.Thank you for this great informations

    Hey guys, jumping on capthong’s post means he’s not really going to get any help… which may be why he never came back. Please make your own topics πŸ™‚
