# Does WordPress suit me?

 * Hi,
    I’m searching for a system for, not writing a blog/diary site, but something
   more like a news site. Actually it will be a page that a school release some 
   latest issue.
 * What I need will be an clean interface which let a clerk without Site Building
   knowledge(i.e. dunno how to write html code.. etc) to update and post new topic
   on the page.
 * The page only need, and must only list all topic titles without displaying the
   content(which is supposed to be viewed only by clicking into the topic).
 * Another thing I think I need is, instead of linking to a html page, sometimes
   the topics will directly link to a file(zip,pdf…whatever), I think no one would
   build such functions, but I’d like to know if there are any methods with wordpress
   can work around. (e.g. link to a redirect page that point to a file)
 * I’ve installed the wordpress with classic theme, but I think it will cost me 
   some time to find out if wordpress suit my need(also finding a theme that close
   to my design) so it’d be great if someone familiar with wordpress can answer 
   me, thx a lots.

 * I don’t see any problems using WP for what you describe.
    Also, you link directly
   to files without any problems.
 * You might also want to look at [MyphpNuke](http://www.myphpnuke.com).
