Does uploading a new XML sitemap to Google override my past SEO?

    Hello, I created a site several years ago and it has done well for SEO. I am thinking about adding some new pages to further help with SEO, but I am wondering if I create these new pages and then upload a new XML sitemap to Google Webmasters will all my good SEO that is out there on the web for that site be lost?

    In other words, if I upload a new XML sitemap is it like starting all over again? i.e My site will disappear from search engine rankings and will take months for my site to re-appear in search rankings?
