    So is this plugin the same as the other Classic Editor and Classic Widgets?
    Did you just take over the updating?
    Can I switch to this one without injury to site from the originals?

    Yes, this plugin replaces other Classic Editor and Classic Widgets plugins at once. Also, you don’t lose any data while deactivating WordPress plugins. You can deactivate other Classic Editor/Widgets plugin and activate this one in order to check the functionality. And at anytime you can activate other plugins if you want.
