Does the plugin activation order matter ? blank admin issue
-
Hi,
I have a blank admin issue connected with plugins, but it does not seem logical to me (this message is very long, cause I’ve tried to be as accurate as possible) :
I used to have the following plugins installed, and working fine together for months (I’m using a custom theme based on Subtleflux) :
Maintenance_mode
Wordpress_breadcrumbs
Flash-video-player
improved-include-page
My_Page_Order
google-sitemap-generator
wp-realtime-sitemap
contact-form-7
Nextgen GalleryOne day, without my having added or changed anything, the admin page went blank.
I did the plugin-deactivating-and-reactivating-one-by-one thing, and Netxgen_Gallery appeared to be the culprit.
I changed themes, choosing TwentyTen : same issue.Question 1 : why does it happen at a moment when no change has been made ? How come a plugin works fine, and then does not anymore ?
Eveything works ok without NG Gallery. But then I tried to see with plugin had problems with NG Gallery :
Test 1 :
Maintenance_mode
+ Nextgen_gallery –> ok
+ flash_video_player –> ok
+ Google XML Sitemaps –> ok
+ improved_include_page –> admin gets blankTest 2 :
Maintenance_mode
+ improved_include_page —> ok
+ Nextgen_gallery –> ok
+ Google XML Sitemaps –> ok
+ flash_video_player –> admin gets blanktest 3 :
Maintenance_mode
+ improved_include_page –> ok
+ flash_video_player –> ok
+ Nextgen_gallery –> ok
+ Google XML Sitemaps –> admin gets blankTest 4 :
Maintenance_mode
+ Google XML Sitemaps –> ok
+ Nextgen_gallery –> ok
+ flash_video_player –> ok
+ improved_include_page –> admin gets blankIt’s never the same plugin that makes everything go wrong. Could it be not a plugin compatibility issue, but something else ?
Test 5 :
Maintenance_mode
+ Google XML Sitemaps –> ok
+ Nextgen_gallery –> ok
+ flash_video_player –> ok
+ WordPress Breadcrumbs –> admin gets blankTest 6 :
Maintenance_mode
+ Google XML Sitemaps –> ok
+ flash_video_player –> ok
+ WordPress Breadcrumbs –> ok
+ improved_include_page –> ok
+ My_Page_Order –> ok
+ revision_control –> okQuestion 2 : What can I do to solve this problem AND keep NG Gallery ?
Question 3 : I’ve been looking for plugins doing the same as NG Gallery (ie image galleries and slideshows), but could not find any that was doing all this in a simple way.
Besides, some gallery plugins I’ve been trying cause the same blank admin problem as NG Gallery
–> Question 4 : what else could I try to see if there’s a problem somewhere else ?It’s been days, and I’m more lost as ever. Have you got any ideas please ?
