Support » Plugin: Post SMTP Mailer/Email Log » Does Postman redeclare wp_mail()?

  • Resolved kalico

I have an ongoing issue with BuddyPress emails being super ugly. Today I read this:

Any plugin that redeclares wp_mail() will cause BuddyPress to send plain text emails.
The Postman SMTP plugin redeclares the function in Postman/PostmanWpMailBinder.php. (here)

This statement is in an old thread, but if still true, it may explain my issue. Is it true that Postman redeclares wp_mail()?

    Hello @kalic,

I am the new team member of the Postman SMTP 🙂

Postman SMTP is not redeclaring the wp_mail function. Can you please let me know what exact issue you are facing so we can further help you.

Thanks for getting back to me. I don’t think there is any real issue here. BuddyPress Group Email Subscription plugin just produces ugly emails 🙂 I was hoping that maybe there was a cause somewhere, but I have looked at their code, and the way the emails are designed, they just don’t look the way we want them to, and customizing it is not an option.

I happened to read that old thread during my research, and thought it might be a clue. But it’s not relevant. Thank you for answering my question.

I have been using Postman/Post-SMTP for many years, and it’s amazing!! Love it! Also very glad that you are keeping it going. Thank you!!
