    I installed the plugin, added some pics to a page and included the example code provided here.
    Nothing gets displayed.

    You need to set the first argument of the acf_photo_gallery function to the name (as a string) of the field_name in advanced custom field of the photo gallery field type AND you need to have the advanced custom fields rule for the photo gallery set to one page not more.
