• We have used this plugin before on many websites. It was OK back then for a free version, despite the constant stalking with thier emails and “red lights”.

Other problems are very messy CSS-code and lots of it, so not good for page speed and not good for customizing so it looks good on the page.

But, it works and that is very good. It is better than MailChimp and the other newsletter marketing plugins.

    Hi @wpreviewer2023!

Sorry to hear that you’ve received spam and experienced some email delivery issues!

In WPForms Lite, we have a built-in anti-spam option which is enabled by default in the form builder > Settings > General (see screenshot here).

We also have integration with Google’s free reCAPTCHA service. In case it helps, here’s a detailed tutorial on how to set up reCAPTCHA in WPForms.

And if you’d prefer not to use reCAPTCHA, we have another anti-spam protection feature, hCaptcha. This is a good option if you’d prefer not to sign up for Google’s reCAPTCHA service. Within your forms, hCaptcha will display a checkbox asking users to prove they’re human (much like Google’s v2 Checkbox reCAPTCHA). We have a detailed guide for setting up hCaptcha

Another option you might want to consider is setting up the Akismet anti-spam protection. This option will allow you to integrate Akismet which is one of the top anti-spam protection plugins on WordPress.org to your forms. You should be able to seamlessly set this up by following the instructions here.

Regarding the email delivery issue, to troubleshoot it, you can check that your form notification settings are configured correctly by following our tutorial.

If your notification settings are correct, the issue is likely because the emails sent from WordPress are not authenticated (unlike emails sent directly from dedicated email service providers). As a result, they are likely to be filtered by the receiving mail server.

To resolve email delivery issues like this, you can configure an SMTP plugin on your site so that emails are sent as authenticated. We have an article with a list of recommended SMTP options and links to their setup tutorials.

And last but not least, regarding CSS customization: for extensive style customizations, we highly recommend CSS Hero. CSS Hero is a plugin that allows you to customize all aspects of your website – including WPForms – with a simple point-and-click. In fact, WPForms is officially integrated and supported. It provides a visual editor for quickly and easily making styling updates without touching any code.

You can learn more about CSS Hero here.

    Hope this helps!
