• Honestly this frustrates me to no end. If you upload images via the NextGen plugin, it does NOT save images in the media and keeps them within the NextGen plugin. So I made a bunch of galleries and uploaded the images through NextGen. Now when I want to use the images in something else, I will have to reupload all the images again into the Media. At this point I’m probably just going to delete the plug-in and go with something more user friendly. Either way I’m going to have to reupload all the images, but I’m not going to use this plug-in as it wasted my time.

If you are the plug-in developer, you need to make it A LOT CLEARER that you cannot access the images via Media when you upload them because is is not stated anywhere that this is the case.

Thanks for your feedback. We have mentions that NextGen Gallery works in its own way with the image files, on the product page (see the “True Photo Gallery Management” section from: https://www.imagely.com/wordpress-gallery-plugin/ page )

NextGen Gallery comes with a powerful and built-in images’ management system that allows a bigger flexibility in terms of working with the files so respectively it requires storing and managing them separately from WP Media.
