• We are subscribed to a business plan. I raised a support ticket complaining to support team that a very helpful review was published by a certain user. Rich Support plugin responded, there is no issue with the plugin but the issue is with Google API. That is unacceptable!

    In addition, we had several reviews from ‘Local Guide’ users but the plugin is not displaying them. Again, the support staff points finger on the Google API is the issue and not the plugin. It appears, they are not capable of adapting the plugin with what we are able to see and filter in the actual Google places reviews user interface.

    Hello,

    Thank you for your opinion, but we think that your review is not fair and I will try to explain why.

    The plugin uses the Google Places API to show your reviews. The API only returns the 5 most helpful reviews and nothing more. You can check what the API returns by entering your place ID and Google API key in this url:

    https://maps.googleapis.com/maps/api/place/details/json?placeid=YOUR_PLACE_ID&key=YOUR_GOOGLE_API_KEY

    If you made this and go to this url, you will find “reviews” section and there’s a 5 reviews only and nothing more.

    Sorry, could you tell me, how could we need to answer to your question, if the Google itself (not the plugin) does not return this important review into the API and does not return the other ‘Local Guide’ reviews? The plugin just can’t get these reviews, because the plugin can’t control Google.

    Actually, I am very upset by your review. Why did you leave negative review to the plugin, although the problem is absolutely not in it, but in the fact that Google just has a limit on reviews (only 5 reviews without a control to change them)? And at the same time we published information about this restriction on the site.
