Hi, we recently installed iThemes security on a site. Shortly thereafter we started having problems where people would be viewing Articulate modules (flash-based training presentations with audio) and after advancing through several slides, suddenly have the presentation freeze up, unable to advance. Then trying to click anywhere on the site (WP, not in the flash) or reload the page, results in a “timeout, unable to reach server” -type error. This lasts for a set amount of time (maybe 30 or 45) minutes, then they’re able to access the site again. It seems a lot like they’re being blocked by the server at some level. I’ve deactivated and deleted iThemes security, but am wondering if some of the security put in place, might still be causing this issue?

On delete (if done through WordPress) all settings would be deleted except for changes you might have made on the advanced tab as changing those could break a site.

Okay, that’s what I expected. Looks like it’s the ConfigServer Firewall we’re running. They’re getting >400 connections at a time when running through these flash-based modules. Something is definitely out of whack. But thank you for replying.
