    Hi.
Does BBQ also block user registration if “Anyone can register” is unchecked as apposed to the standard of just hiding the link? Or put in another way: Should I also use the plugin https://wordpress.org/plugins/disable-user-registration/ or am I safe from botted registrations with BBQ?

If the mentioned plugin is still needed, I’d like to suggest getting in contact with it’s author. The functionality would make a fine addition to the already great BBQ 🙂

    Best regards

    Hi motivmedia,

Actually, if “Anyone can register” is unchecked, you don’t need to do anything else: WordPress makes sure that no other users can register (it’s impossible to do so when that setting is disabled). So you don’t need to install an extra plugin, just let WP do it’s thing and you’re fine.

    Hi Jeff.
That comes as a surprise. A welcome one 🙂 Then I really don’t get, what the plugin I mentioned is about. It’s even fairly new.

However, thanks for the quick reply. Your plugin let’s me sleep better. And besides: Really love the insights from your blog. Lots of it doesn’t apply to my situation but the insights themselves into the greater picture are always good reads!

    Best regards
