 * I’m having a conflict with WordPress SEO and a theme-customized version of Visual
   Composer. To make Visual Composer work, I have to deactivate WordPress SEO.
 * When I do this, do I lose all the SEO goodness or is it still built into the
   posts? Does WordPress SEO only provide SEO resources on previously SEO’d posts
   and pages only if it is an active plugin?
 * Thank you.

 * I have a similar question, I had to deactivate WordPress SEO because it caused
   a Fatal Error on my homepage
 * Fatal error: __clone method called on non-object in ../wp-content/plugins/wp-
   views/embedded/inc/wpv.class.php on line 788
 * it seems there is a conflict between the two plugins.
 * But do I lose all the features of SEO if I deactivate it over the weekend to
   sort this out?

 * When deactivating WordPress SEO:
    - you will not lose the content of the posts that you optimized.
    - you will lose the extras WordPress SEO adds to your page.

 * _When deactivating WordPress SEO:
    you will not lose the content of the posts
   that you optimized. you will lose the extras WordPress SEO adds to your page.
 * Let me make sure I understand this clearly, because I had a similar question.
 * Let’s say I install WordPress SEO and optimize 1,000 pages/posts. When I deactivate
   it, I
 * – keep all of the original content in all of those 1,000 pages/posts that was
   there prior to installing WordPress SEO
 * – lose all meta tags, descriptions, focus keywords, etc. I added to those 1,000
   pages/posts between the time I installed WordPress SEO and the time I deactivated
   it; that is, nothing that WordPress SEO adds is hard-coded into any of those
   1,000 pages/posts I used it on.
 * – so, after reactivating WordPress SEO, I would then have to repeat my operations
   on my 1,000 pages/posts
 * Is this correct? If not, please clarify what is correct and what is not.

 * That is not entirely correct.
 * If you deactivate WordPress SEO the descriptions, focus keywords, etc are unavailable
   as long as the plugin is deactivated. When you reactivate the plugin, all the
   information is immediately available again, so you will not have to add them
   again.
 * Does that answer your question?

 * That answers my question TacoVerdo…
 * I figured all that goodness goes away when deactivated. Wanted to make sure.
 * Thank you!

 * _Does that answer your question?_
 * Thanks. Yes and no.
 * Is the information still available if the plugin is uninstalled, deleted, and
   re-installed? I wouldn’t want to lose a lot of work by uninstalling it without
   a serious reason for doing so.

 * Saintandrews, I have the same question. I don’t want to lose all the keywords
   and meta data I entered when I delete the plugin. TacoVerdo, will that happen?

 * DHCooks, the response I received 11 months ago left me assuming that, while one’s
   Yoast SEO settings remain in the database if the plugin is merely deactivated,
   one’s Yoast-generated data gets wiped if the plugin is fully deleted.
 * Before risking that, one should probably find a new home for that data as well
   as a means to get it there. This recent post here

 * offers some alternatives to those ends.
