Does changine the snippet slug change the permalink or require a 301 redirect?

    I am under the impression that when I update the snippet slug it does not actually change the permalink or require a 301 redirect and in turn only changes the url that google displays in the search results. Honestly, I haven’t really seen anywhere that explicitly explains if this is true or not so I can only assume. Am I correct in assuming this or while it actually change the permalink and require a 301?

    The snippet slug and the permalink slug are the same option. If you change the slug in either option, a 301 redirect would be necessary.
