When you publish a new page (as opposed to a blog post)that page is not automatically listed in an RSS feed (as that should only contain blog posts not specific pages). That being said, much of this depends upon what (if any) plugins you are running and what your settings may be.
For example, if I use the plugin Subscribe2, which allows for a fairly basic "subscribe to my blog" capability, it has a setting where you you can set it to alert subscribers that a new page is created (when it has been) or not. When creating a new page, before saving it, I make sure to check the option not to notify subscribers.
So, we don't know what plugins you're running for RSS or blog subscriptions, but if you are using such plugins, you'll want to check those settings. If there are no such plugins, by default, I do not believe creating a new page would register in a basic RSS feed. One way to try to tell is to go to your domain name, such as http://www.myname.com and then enter "feed" at the end, so it would be http://www.myname.com/feed and see what you get there as well.
Hope that helps!
