I was in the settings field yesterday editing the tagline to our website, when I noticed that the address was listed as “.com” “.com!?” I thought, it should be “.org” so I changed it to .org instead. Next thing I know… the site home page is scattered into disarranged pieces (as if the page cannot load properly) and every time I login to the back end I get a server error message. Did that change cause the site to fail in loading properly and is my admin user now locked out because of that?

    Thank you for your help!

I am not really sure how this issue relates to WATS… Can you please clarify?

I’m not sure if it does – I’m just trying to get some clarity about how to fix this problem. I’m essentially locked out of the back end of my wordpress – unable to login – because I changed the field in settings from “.com” to a “.org”.

Any idea about how I can get back into the site?

You most likely haven’t properly done the change and only change one of the 2 settings. The only way to fix this would probably be to go into the DB and fix this in the options table. You could also restore a backup.

Thanks for your help – Can you explain what the “DB” is? And how do I get to it if I can’t login to wp-admin?

The DB is the database, you can access it directly through your host provider panel, in php my admin.

Ok – will try that. Thank you!
