# Documentation?

 * Is there a link to documentation or quickstart guide that you could provide?
My client has a form already created in their CC account. I would like to use
that one but see no provision in your plugin for pulling in forms created in
   CC.
 * Also, it is not intuitive on how to use the form in WordPress page templates.
Is it a widget? Shortcode? Some other method?
 * If there is documentation, I’m sure I could figure it out from that. I am a web
   dev pro.
 * Thanks!

 * No official documentation location at the moment, though we probably should work
   on one.
 * Overall it should be pretty straightforward. Once you get connected to the Constant
Contact account, you’ll be able to associate a form with a given list, and it
will be populated from your current lists.
 * Then you set up the fields you’d like to collect data for, and publish the form.
In the “All Forms” spot, there will be a column that shows a shortcode, like [
ctct form=”4″] that you can copy/paste in wherever you can use a shortcode. That
will then be parsed and shown on the frontend like expected, ready for a user
   to sign up with.
 * We’re open to ideas and suggestions on how to improve as well, so feel free to
include those in a reply as necessary. We’ll review them and see what we want
to move forward with and when.

 * I always forget about TinyMCE buttons that we use in a number of plugins. There’s
   also this: [https://cloudup.com/cp0e2APNlch](https://cloudup.com/cp0e2APNlch)
that should help with inserting created forms in posts/pages.

 * I was hoping that I could correlate the form fields with an existing CC form
the way you can with MailChimp.
 * Anyway, the rest seems like standard config. Thanks.

 * Thanks, Michael. Since I want to be able to add the form as a widget in Beaver
Builder so I can place it anywhere on a very complex page layout, I think I will
get Gravity Forms license and one of the CC add-ons for that plugin instead of
   using the native CC plugin.
 * I will keep the TinyMCE icon in mind for simpler builds. Thanks! I appreciate
   your help.

 * Yes, please, we need a quick-start guide!
 * I got your plugin link from Constant Contact email (I’m a CC user).
 * So now that I downloaded your plugin, what do I do next?
 * I’d have liked to go to my Plugins > WP plugins, and it there. But there are
multiple CC Forms, so I’m afraid I’ll choose the wrong one.

 * Regina, regarding your last point, do you mean when you’re trying to add the
plugin to your website? Look for the one that has “Constant Contact” listed as
   the author.
 * It’ll look something like this in the listing: [https://cloudup.com/cLZ2SI1jsWE](https://cloudup.com/cLZ2SI1jsWE)
 * After that, there’s a few steps to take.
 * 1. Connecting your WP install to your Constant Contact account. There should
be prompts for you to do that. It’ll have you log in with your account, and then
take care of the rest, including syncing the lists between the site and Constant
   Contact.
    2. Create a form from the available menu items in the “Contact Form”
menu item that uses the Constant Contact logo. There you’ll title it, fill in
desired fields, and if you’re connected already, have the ability to associate
a list from your Constant Contact account with this form. Once happy, hit save.
   3. Embed the form on the website. You will see a shortcode in the list of created
forms, and you can use that to embed the newly created form in whatever page/
post you want it to display in. Users will be able to visit the page, fill out
the form, and hit submit. Once they have, they should soon appear in the chosen
list on ConstantContact.com. You will also get notified via email that someone
signed up. 4. If you happen to not make the Constant Contact connection in step
1, you aren’t out of luck. You can still use it to collect information, and the
email notifications will still occur. It simply won’t also go to ConstantContact.
com The account with them is not required, but is encouraged.
