# Document Permissions

 * Hi,
 * Why is it when I restrict a category to a certain role I still get the download
   link for files with in it? I know that the file has “All visitors set”, do the
   files permissions take precedence over the category which it is in?

   Visitors” from the file. Effective file access = file access + access for selected
   categories
