I run a Dog rescue site http://www.dogrescuecentres.org.uk , and I am running out of menu space, because of the shear number of menu items I notice that menu creation has become a lot slower, I have read that this happens when you create a high number of pages. I am not getting to the point of needing to add Breed specific dog rescues but I just dont have any menu space left not to mention how slow the menu creation speed is stupidly slow.
I was thinking about WordPress multi-site of which I know nothing! In my head ( dangerous place to be ) I have this idea of creating subdomain http://www.breeds.dogrescuecentres.org.uk and this looking exactly the same as the main site accept all it lists is the Breed dog rescues here in the UK. Now I could just add a second install of WP and just add the theme so it looks the same but seems a bit messy doing that. Hence the idea of multi site, I was reading up on this and came across this paragraph..
"If you plan on creating sites that are strongly interconnected, that share data, or share users, then a multisite network might not be the best solution.
For example, if all you want is for different collections of web pages to look very different, then you can probably achieve what you want in a single site by using a plugin to switch themes, templates, or stylesheets. "
This sounds like it might work for what I need, but I have no idea about these plugins that it talks about, I wouldn't even know what search term to use to search for these plugins?
