Support » Plugin: UpdraftPlus WordPress Backup Plugin » Do you have to select a remote storage location?

Hi, since the plugin also backs up locally, I do not need it to store a backup remotely.

    Under:
    Choose your remote storage
(tap on an icon to select or unselect):

It seems to me that it is not possible to not select a remote storage location.

Is it possible to just have the plugin do local backups?

    Hi,

It is not necessary to select a remote storage for you backups. By default, UpdraftPlus saves your backups to your server.

@iironfish2 @bcrodua However – if you don’t have remote storage, then all your eggs are in one basket. Have something go wrong with your website hosting space/server or hosting company, and you lose both the site and the backup in one event.

Thank you both for your support 🙂
