# DO we need this ping plugin?

 * I came accross this plug in for pinging,
 * [http://www.daven.se/usefulstuff/wordpress-plugins.html](http://www.daven.se/usefulstuff/wordpress-plugins.html)
 * and it mentioned that the default pinging in v2 Of WordPress has this problem:
 * That wordpress pings everytime you save a post or edit a post. If this is true
   then you may be banned on your first day from all the ping sites (as you’re pinging
   more than once a day). There goes all your blog work!
 * Is this true?

    No it doesn’t.
 * It pings on Publish.
