I had installed your plugin which was to prevent WP from making all these extra images, but unfortunately I have to say that it does not work. every time I upload a picture I get 6 new pictures.

i am using version 5.5.1 of wp and the divi theme

This plugin only disables the responsive image stuff. That includes one image and the markup that is added to the output HTML.

What you are looking for is a plugin to disable all the unwanted image sizes. I happen to have new a plugin that does just that:
