Do Not update to version 2.0 – it is a downgrade!
The original version of contact call offered an always visible, always active, always free and easy-to-use black call button that gives your website users (for free) Skype, computer and telephone calling options. On the other hand, the new version 2.0 doesn’t seem to offer the same free options (if the new version 2.0 does offer those options for free, I tried to get help from click desk and PBX and couldn’t yet get anyone to answer my questions). The original version was easy to set up and I gave it excellent marks and recommended it frequently. Version 2.0 was not easy for me to set up and required me to register with click desk. For those of you that had the old free PBX version that I prefer, be advised that it seems that a new division/company is offering this version 2.0 update and it isn’t the same and it doesn’t seem to be ‘free’, so if you can, I’d keep what you have and not update. In my opinion this version 2.0 should not be offered as an ‘update’ to the original PBX but rather should be marketed as an entirely different plug in. If it’s not going to be marketed as an entirely different plugin then at a minimum I would recommend that the description re the black call box should be revised so that it is clear what is being offered now is quite different. There should be a chart showing the old version and the new version clearly indicating what remains free and what you will lose when you ‘update.’ For example, I would not have updated if there had been a warning for all PBX version users that they will lose much of the free VOIP functionality if they ‘update.’
