 * Like the subject says. It would be awesome to have a version of WordPress that
does not mangle html and javascript. If I type it in the text box then it should
stay **exactly** as I type it.

 * Can you be a little more specific. In what way does WordPress “mangle ” HTML &
   CSS?

 * You should never be posting javascript inside posts, actually, that’s just a
   security nightmare.
 * If you MUST, then use the text editor (not the visual one).

 * Not a security “nightmare”. Such sensationalism. You must remember that a large
part of WordPress installs are used as a single admin CMS and not a blogging
   platform.
 * Again we come back to the lack of permissions and roles functionality in the
   wordpress core.
 * I would rather code a site from scratch and leave wordpress out of it altogether,
however that is not my employers choice. So being forced to use wordpress as
a CMS (without customisation), I would like it to work like one and to stop mangling
   my code.

 * Not sensationalism, experience. After years of supporting the majority of WP
users (aka: non admins) I promise you it’s a fast track to people being absolutely
reckless. You and I can do it wisely. The rest of ’em? Well. No. Heck, on Multisite,
we lock that stuff down so you can’t even use iframes unless you’re the super
   admin.
 * You must remember that a large part of WordPress installs are maintained by non-
technical people, and it’s on us to protect them. That’s why we made shortcodes
   and the like.
