How can we have this plugin continue serving images from Cloudinary even if we pass the quota? At times we are going over our bandwidth quota but we cannot afford to have this plugin disabled since the raw iamges we upload to WordPress are very large. Since the bandwidth quota is just a “soft” limit” we will just get billed for the additional bandwidth.

Is there any code that I can comment out or functions I can hook onto to disable this?

    Hi @alexranc,

    Thanks for reaching out.

While our plan limits are soft limits, when exceeded, it doesn’t immediately affect your production environment.
When getting near your plan limits, an automatic notification email will be sent to you, warning you of exceeding it.
You will then be prompted to either settle your usage or upgrade to a more suitable plan.
Ignoring those multiple warnings and notifications can result in a deactivation of your account.

In case your plan is a PAYG plan then you will get billed for the additional usage, otherwise your account will be disabled if you don’t upgrade or don’t settle your usage after multiple notifications as mentioned above.

Could you share your cloud name in order to have a look at your account?

    Thanks in advance.
    Best,
    Loic

    Hi Loic,

    My cloud name is dhqvlsb3l

So you are saying if we have a PAYG the WordPress plugin will still serve the images from Cloudinary if we go over the bandwidth quota?

    @alexranc

Yes, that’s correct. PAYG plan allows overages and bills based on credit utilization.
    https://cloudinary.com/console/payments/upgrade/pro_PAYG/monthly

This plan will allow 2,750 Monthly Credits
    1 Credit = 1,000 Transformations OR
    1 GB Storage OR
    1 GB Bandwidth
    $0.45 Overage credit price

Let me know if this helps.

    Best regards,
    Jay

    Hi @alexranc,

    Thanks for sharing your cloud.

After looking into it, I see you received several notifications to your email and that’s why you received a deactivation email.

I can see you are between 100% and 115% of your available credits, so while the PRO plan may be a big gap, we could also add the PAYG option for existing plans.

If you are interested in doing this, could you please contact support@cloudinary.com to handle this request?

    Best regards,
    Loic

    Loic,

    Thanks for the reply!

So if we get the PAYG option added to our plan and we go over the bandwidth limit the Cloudinary WordPress Plugin will not be deactivated until the next billing cycle as is shown in the following screenshot? – https://ibb.co/6gtxZLy

@alexranc Yes, on PAYG plan plugin or the account is not deactivated.

    Best regards,
    Jay
