Do I really need to run WP locally (using MAMP?)

I’m still trying to get my site to look the way I want and also learning to create my own theme and the required PHP, etc. There’s no real content on my site so I just upload various theme builds to my server and test it. I’m holding off on adding content to the site until I have this just right. So then is there any advantage to running MAMP when I can do pretty much the same thing on a server offsite?

Aside from saving a little time, not uploading a broken theme or site and being able to work offline, would there be any other reason to use MAMP?

    Thanks!

Not really. As a theme dev myself, I just find it a lot easier and quicker to work on a local server.

I can imagine it would help. I’m just having enough trouble with the code and everything else, for the moment, no local server is the least of my worries.

    Thanks esmi!
