[resolved] Do I need to copy plug-ins to my child theme folder? (3 posts)

    Totally new to WP.

I have created a child theme for the website I am creating. I have created a css file in my child theme folder as well as copied the header.php file since I needed to make some modifications there.

I've been moving along, adding plug-ins manually via ftp and it occurred to me that I wasn't sure if I needed to copy the new plugins to the child theme folder or just keep them in the main wp-content/plugins folder (which is where they are now).

Does anyone have an answer for this?

All of your plugins will live in the /plugins/ folder where you have them now. WordPress won't recognise them if you move them into a different location. Remember that the /plugins/ folder is for plugins only and the /themes/ folder is for themes only.
