Do I need need the Tagalog add on to display store categories?

  • I’ve created multiple categories in my store pages section… and assigned them to stores. But I cannot see them anywhere on the front end… Why doesn’t the standard categories widget work? I’m not seeing any categories under the Meta section on the posts page either.

I’m not seeing any way to display the categories.

They are custom taxonomies. You need plugins/widgets that support custom categories (taxonomies) not just the built-in categories.

They are kept separate on purpose. Many (most) sites, or at least all of my contract clients, do not want to see store categories mixed in with their normal page/post categories.

That said, any newer widgets/plugins should support custom taxonomies. It has been fairly standard fare for WordPress for nearly 2 years now. Since the 3.X releases AFAIK.
