Do I have to enable user ID in Google Analytics to track user analytics?

    Hi,
    I want to track the user analytics on our Woocommerce site such as product purchase by user, sales by user, etc.

    Do I have to enable user ID in Google Analytics to track user analytics?

    I have enabled:
    Customer data in data layer
    Logged in user ID, name and email under Basic Data visitors

    Hi Stan,

    The User ID feature in Google Analytics is usually used to measure cross device behavior of your users while they are logged in on your site.

    The metrics “Users” in Google Analytics can be more closer to “Browser” but it can also incorporate calculations that will give you more accurate results:

    All in all, to see the product purchase per user and sales by user, you do not necessarily need to use User ID but it can make your reports more accurate.
