• Hi All,

I am a website designer and a friend of mine wants a site they can update themselves. Now I dont want to set them up with a fully featured CMS that I would normally use as they really dont need it.

I just need to create them a simple site and allow them to edit the pictures and text.

Would WordPress be suitable for this? If not, any suggestions?

    Many Thanks

    Gary

  • 1. Yes, it is possible. Many people use WP as a light CMS.
    2. Regardless of the “lightness” – they will still have to learn how to work with it: 90% of the errors and screwed up WP sites come from users not learning their tool 🙂

Ya I use it as a CMS.

No problem using it as a cms. Use a “Page” as the homepage, with the plugin to do that, customize the theme, and even use a special template for the homepage to differentiate it from the rest of the site.

    Yep, it’s possible.
Here’s my own in-progress experiment if you want some inspiration: http://game-research.com/2/

    Good luck.
