do all Themes use the WP Image Uploader?

    i need to create a new portfolio based website and i have all my images already organized in Aperture (which also lets me /easily/ edit them and /easily/ publish them to Flickr).

    is there some way to use a WP.org or WP.com theme but in a way that does not involve the image uploader or the gallery functionality?
