 * Hello.
 * This issue has just been brought to my attention. files in the ‘dlm uploads’
   directory are throwing a 403 Forbidden error. we did just move this site to a
   new server, but all the files are in the correct directory and the URL paths
   are also correct. my only solution was to remove the file from the ‘download’
   resource, and re-add it, and save. these file, initially, required form completion,
   in order to access/download, but the form option was removed a couple years ago.
 * I’m not sure if removing the form option is what caused the error? or the server
   migration? since the files and paths are correct, I’m assuming the former.
 * since the form option is not selected for the resource, but the file is in the‘
   dlm uploads’ directory, is this what is causing the error?
 * Thanks in advance.

 * update: I just created a new ‘download’, with NO download form option selected,
   and the file is still going to the ‘dlm_uploads’ directory. I didn’t build this
   site but, I believe all generic, non-download form attached files, should go
   to the ‘uploads’ directly, by default.
 * any idea why a file with no download form option selected would still be going
   to the ‘dlm_uploads’ directory?

 * Hello [@bduffey](https://wordpress.org/support/users/bduffey/) and sorry for
   this late reply.
 * Files uploaded and used inside plugin ( exception the ones uploaded in Media
   Library and used from there) go to the ‘dlm_uploads’ directory.
 * The cause of the 403 forbidden you are receiving is due to the .htaccess conditions
   found in the ‘dlm_uploads’ directory, denying all access to files found there.
 * These conditions exists so that others can’t go inside that folder and download
   your files. Also, the Download Monitor plugin won’t be able to count the downloads
   if visitors download the files by going inside that folder. I assume you have
   also selected the “Redirect to file” option. Is there a possibility that you
   can disable the “Redirect to file” option and let users download the files automatically?
 * Hope this helps,
 * Kind Regards!
    Razvan
