 * The instructions on the site are very difficult to follow. I’m not sure exactly
   what to name the .txt files, or where to upload them on my site. Can someone 
   please explain very clearly (think someone with no dev skills)?
 * The email address has already been verified. I just need these two things handled
   asap.

 * This will be set up via Advanced DNS options through your hosting provider. I
   was able to easily find the instructions via my Web Host’s Knowledge base.

 * If you have additional questions, you will need to contact the support for your
   web host to add these items to your DNS.
