Support » Plugin: BP Profile Search » Divi and BPS directory shortcode

  • Hello,

I’m using Divi as a theme builder and working with Buddypress and Paid Memberships Pro to add membership capabilities.

Using the BPS plugin and keen to add a Member Directory, searchable to existing members and site visitors.

When I add the shortcode [bps_directory] to a blank page I can see the directory with no issues but as soon as I apply a divi page template to this page it seems that the directory no longer loads.

Does anyone know why this might be?
Or alternatively how I can style the directory with my own header etc.?

    Many thanks

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hello joewalkling,

The [bps_directory] shortcode should work with Divi, maybe there is a conflict with another plugin.

One question, do you need more than one directory?

    Hi andrea,
Yes, I would like to add a 2nd directory that sits within this page of my site
    /about/

Currently there are some profiles that have been built with divi modules but I would like these to be replaced by their BP profiles.

The 2nd directory would only show a select number of users depending on their role.

Any thoughts on how I might be able to achieve this?

    Hi Joe,

Are you able to apply a Divi template to the standard BuddyPress Members directory?

I’m asking because the [bps_directory] shortcode mimics the standard directory, so whatever you can (and can’t) do with the default Members directory you should be able to do with the additional directories.

you can’t apply divi to the BP member directory as far as I have tried, i presume then that I can’t do what I’m after with this plugin? 🙁

Unfortunately, if you can’t use Divi with the BP Members directory, you can’t use it with [bps_directory] either.

You can fully customize your directories using WordPress page templates, but this option requires some programming skills to create and/or modify the templates.
