Support » Themes and Templates » DIV tags and overlaping

  • Hi,

I’m having some problems with a WordPress template. On a Mac it looks fine and OK. But very often I hear that Windows users see this differently when seen in MSIE. The sidebar has been “pushed” further down the page. I guess it is a problem with the templates DIV tags that this kind of overlaping is seen in MSIE?

The theme is I Feel Dirty:

…and the problem can be seen in MSIE in Windows on this site:

…anyone who can help me with this problem?

its not about the browser, well not exactly.. its more about your posts and choice of theme.

This post (sidebar is where it belongs): http://www.concrit.dk/?p=14

This post looks fine (sidebar where it belongs): http://www.concrit.dk/?p=3

This post (sidebar has fallen): http://www.concrit.dk/?p=9

It’s probably all of the italics in that post causing problems, IE uses more “space” (basically) when rendering italicized text. A dirty solution might be to reduce the font size slightly on your italicized text.

Realize that youre using a fixed width theme, so anything that causes IE to need more space is going to cause that sidebar to drop/fall/whatever you want to call it.

And realize also, that i did NOT go through all your posts to see if there were other ones causing similar problems. Thats your job 🙂 They still have an ie for mac available, dont they?

and btw, it has nothing to do with overlapping div tags

Ok, I still can’t get this to work. Is there any way that I can make some changes to e.g. the style.css file to get around this problem?
