Distributing theme templates with custom post types

Hi, if I’m distributing a plugin that includes a custom post type, and I’ve also created a custom template (loop) for Twenty Ten that displays posts of that custom type, what is the best way to distribute that theme template? Is there a way that will work regardless of template?
