Support » Plugin: Disqus Comment System » Disqus for WordPress 3.0 Plugin Beta Now Available

  • Plugin Author brevityness

We released the beta for the upcoming 3.0 update that introduces several major improvements including:

Improved Comment Syncing: switched from wp-cron to a more reliable webhook method. In addition, comment edits and state (e.g. approved, pending, deleted) are now supported. This resolves the issue with comments not syncing for some sites, particularly for highly active communities.

Redesigned plugin settings page – It’s now way easier to find specific plugin settings with a new layout when configuring Disqus for your WordPress site.

Convenient Disqus menu in WordPress admin – Access Disqus easily from any page on your site when logged-in to WordPress.

There’s more updates coming soon including:

    • Easy automatic installation
    • Actions and filters supported by the current plugin
    • Automatic importing of comments
    • Manual comment syncing

If you’re interested in testing this out on your site, here’s how to get started:

    1. Download the zip file of the latest build
    2. Upload the zip file to WordPress
    3. De-activate the existing Disqus plugin
    4. Activate the beta Disqus plugin

The official release will be coming soon after we’ve completed testing on a range of sites and addressed any major bugs we find (none so far). If you like to follow the latest updates, check out our blog or watch the plugin on Github.
