Newest WP Version, Newest NextGEN Version, Theme Twenty-Eleven

    Hello,

unfortunately I have once again major problems with NextGEN Gallery.

    PROBLEM 1: Displayment of galleries

In an album, the gallery folders should be presented like this:

Every X is a gallery folder.

But suddenly they appear like this:

    X
    X
    X
    X
    X
    X
    X
    X

So it looks like trash and it seems I can’t to anything about it.

    PROBLEM 2: Displayment of pictures

It is just the same problem. In a gallery, the pictures should be presented like this:

    Every X is a picture.

But suddenly they appear like this:

    X
    X
    X
    X
    X
    X
    X
    X

    PROBLEM 3: Pictures don’t maximize

Normally, if you click at on of the small preview pictures, it will enlarge / maximize to full size. You can slide them with little arrows.

Suddenly, when you click on a small picture, then nothing at all is happening.

So not only the displayment of the pictures started to look like trash, they also just don’t work anymore.

What else I wanted to say

Yes of course I selected the displayment of five coloums in the options. And yes of course I selected the displayment of 20 pictures per page 😉

I use NextGEN since 2012. I have a very faded memory of a similar problem I had long time ago. Back then the Plugin “forgot” the lightbox effect after an update. I could go to “other options” and just set the lightbox effect back to “shutter”. Everything was solved back then. But it seems the lightbox option has now completely vanished from the “other options”!? It seems there is no place to select it. It would have been the first thing I tried, but is is gone.

    Help needed.

    EDIT:
Every plugin is up to date. The last plugins I updated were Newsletter by Stefano Lissa and All in One SEO by All in One SEO Team. I can’t tell if NextGEN crashed before or after these updates, but 3 days ago everything worked fine.

It looks like this could be a theme conflict; but I have to admit I haven’t personally done a lot of testing with TwentyEleven in a while.

If you click an image the lightbox IS starting, but rather than being an overlay it’s all the way down at the bottom of the page! Another lightbox may not have the same problem, Shutter is unfortunately quite old at this point.

Not a Theme conflict for the thumbnails not working…
I have the Paid version of Photocrati 5, which is nextgen’s own theme and my thumbnails are not working either… Since they are forcing people to rebuild websites to Photocrati 10 lots of errors are appearing.

    Hello Benjamin,

I found where the Lightbox options are hidden now. I tried every single one that is available there… Fancybox, Thickbox. It did not chance anything. The problems stay the same. Even turning off the lightbox comepletely did not help.

Xandar said, it is also not a theme conflict.

So what is next to try???? Support needed.

I don’t know if it helps, but I looked up the old thread when I had the displayment / sorting problem before (even if back then at least the lightbox worked):

    https://wordpress.org/support/topic/display-of-albums-broke-with-1921/

So six years ago it was a CSS problem. But my style.css is not empty this time, so maybe its a whole different problem now.

The same in my blog https://joanrocablog.com/
I have a lot of work there and the problem for me is really big.
    Any news, solution, …..

We recently made a change to how file paths are determined, it’s possible this has affected the content of NextGEN’s custom styles feature. If that feature is being used then perhaps going to Other Options > Styles and re-selecting your stylesheet and saving it again may fix the problem.

Perhaps the styles set there are not being applied at all.

I am so sorry, but I have not any custom CSS style. Just updated the plug-in.

Now I have recovered the blog from a security backup from Dec 1st and all is working as usual. Updated WordPress an also all is working fine. Can’t update NextGen gallery the new version is not working at all for me.

My version 3.4.7 and NextGen Plus version 1.7.0 works fine both together as you can now see in my blog.

Please let me know when you fix the problem. To much problems and few solutions, WE NEED SOLUTIONS NO PROBLEMS AT ALL.

    Hello there, I got news!!

In my case the cause seemed to be a plugin conflict between the latest (and only the latest) version of NextGEN and the All In One SEO plugin. All In One SEO hat a very bad update and released two hotfixes in the last two days.

After todays hotfix version 4.0.9 NextGEN started to work normally again 🙂

So Xander and Joan, I suggest that if you also use All In One SEO you download todays update and see if it does the job. If you do not use All In One SEO, then maybe Benjamin has another idea for you.

In case of my website the problem seems to be solved.

    Merry Christmas to everyone 🙂

    Hey guys,

AIOSEO dev here. This was caused because of a conflict between our plugin and NextGen. We’ve fixed it in latest 4.0.9 update, so you should definitely update if you haven’t already.
