Displaying WP content from outside WP directory (2 posts)

    Hi everyone...

So let's say someone had their WordPress installation (v1.5... which kicks ass by the way) inside a directory called "/blog/". But the home page of their site was outside the /blog/ directory, at the root level of the site. And then, they wanted their home page to display only the most recent post from WordPress... or maybe just the title, date, and excerpt.

I'm very comfortable editing php, and have successfully created my own theme in 1.5... but I just can't figure out the easy way too pull this off. Any help out there? Can you call WP functions into an external HTML or php file with the include function or something?
