    From the Maps API docs:

    The Google Maps API uses the browser’s preferred language setting when displaying textual information such as the names for controls, copyright notices, driving directions and labels on maps. In most cases, this is preferable; you usually do not wish to override the user’s preferred language setting. However, if you wish to change the Maps API to ignore the browser’s language setting and force it to display information in a particular language, you can…

    Version 1.9.3 will allow you to do this when it comes out, by adding a filter like this:

    function setBGMPMapLanguage( $language )
    {
    	return 'iw';
    }
    add_filter( 'bgmp_map-language', 'setBGMPMapLanguage' );

    You can reference the list of available languages to determine the language code you want to use.

    Thanks
    Where can I download this version?
    Or is it still under developement?
    Thanks A lot!

    You can download it at http://downloads.wordpress.org/plugin/basic-google-maps-placemarks.1.9.3-rc1.zip

    It’s passed all my tests, but it’s not a final release yet, so if possible, install it on a staging server. That way your live site won’t be harmed if there are any problems.

    Please let me know if that works for you or not.

    Works like a charm 🙂

    But 1 thing doesn’t really works for me – the zoom level –
    Is this a matter of cache maybe?
    It always seems to lock into a specific zoom….

    Thanks a lot!

    I hope you won’t be able to see the rockets flying by 🙂

    I checked in Chrome and Firefox and didn’t notice any problems changing the zoom level with the zoom control on the map itself.

    Are you talking about the zoom setting on the BGMP Settings page? I’m not seeing any problems with that either.

    1.9.3-rc2 is now available, which adds the Google Maps language filter.
