# Displaying the admin bar

 * I’m making my first theme and it’s working pretty well except that the admin 
   bar doesn’t display. I’m talking about the narrow bar at the top of the page 
   that includes shortcuts to the dashboard and to creating new posts (among other
   things).
 * What am I doing wrong? I can’t find what I need to do to get this to display.

 * Ensure that your theme’s footer.php file includes `<?php wp_footer(); ?>` – ideally
   just before the `</body></html>` tags.
