I was trying to modify ./wp-includes/author-template.php, but seems it is not the right php file.
No no no, don’t so that. Ever. Editing any files that ship with WordPress should never be edited. At best you’ll lose your work at the next update, at worse you’ll make your installation insecure.
Can you post a link to illustrate this /author/
problem? It may make it easier to offer you a solution.
here i got some posts,
after each one there is
Post by CrazyDiamond, that links to http://photourism.ru/author/crazydiamond/
I want it to link some other page, to http://photourism.ru/about/ maybe.
or maybe i want to be able to edit http://photourism.ru/author/crazydiamond/, im not sure))
So, is there any php file, that produce http://photourism.ru/author/crazydiamond/ ?
I couldnt find anything with total ‘egrep -r author *’

Don’t edit files, instead try using a redirect. Also don’t bump, we frown on that here.
If you want to send users who go to http://photourism.ru/author/crazydiamond/
or any author URL to http://photourism.ru/about/
then make a backup copy of your existing .htaccess
file and add these lines to the top of that file.
<IfModule mod_rewrite.c>
RewriteEngine on
RewriteRule author/.* http://photourism.ru/about/ [R=301,L]
</IfModule>
This will cause http://photourism.ru/author/crazydiamond/ to get 301 redirected to http://photourism.ru/about/ and you don’t have to edit any WordPress files.
I dont want use redirect because i want my blog posts links to my author page with rel=”author”. If i redirect – i will loose that relations.
btw, redirecting with htaccess is only for apache users.
Im trying to edit these functions:
- pinboard_post_author
- pinboard_entry_meta
but for now with no success.

*Looks ah, you’re running nginx cool*
That’s a tricky one. You want to keep the author links but you don’t want it to go to the author page but somewhere else. Doing it in code or the database is problematic so try one of these plugins instead.
http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/search.php?q=author+base
This one looks fairly current.
http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/edit-author-slug/
Ok, i have done everything with editing theme’s functions.php
>function pinboard_post_author
>function pinboard_entry_meta
web page was cached, thats why i didnt saw any results before.
But the question “how to edit http://photourism.ru/author/crazydiamond/” still exists.
