Displaying Multiple Authors on a Page

Hello. I am managing my church’s website that runs the latest version of WordPress. My goal is to do the following but I am unsure what code or plugins to use to achieve it.

1. Create a blog landing page (domain.com/blog) that lists the Authors bio box along with their last post.

2. Give each author a page that can be modified to display only their posts.

Any ideas on how to start? I was inspired by the Gospel Coalition’s blog system, though it is probably more advanced than I need: http://thegospelcoalition.org/blogs/tgc/. I do not want to use Multisite to accomplish this, as I’m sure it’s just a matter of plugging the right code snippets into the page to get it working.
