Support » Fixing WordPress » Displaying images in categories and archives

  • I am running wordpress 2.8 with the “straightforward” theme using it as a photoblog where I upload images from my cell phone to my flicker account and flickr makes the post to my blog. Every post contains a photo. The photo resides on the flicker server, so there is an img tag in each post. when I click on any of my category links, or my archive links just the text of the post and not the photo is displayed. I want the photos to display there as well. can someone recommend how to fix this?
If needed, I will post a link to my blog.

  • Hi there,

Do you want the Title of the post be replaced with the image or the excerpt?

In many themes the template files archive.php and category.php use something like <?php the_excerpt(); ?> . Then links, images etc are not shown and only a set number of words. (Which is no so bad for an archive page).
Use the_content instead or use a plugin like the excerpt re-reloaded where you can set what to show.
