Displaying full size images inside template? (5 posts)

Hi folks. I'm hoping someone might be able to help me out. I'm looking to find a means of displaying images within my wordpress template. By default, when one includes images in a post, the user is taken to the image file itself after clicking on it. I am in need of a way to display the full sized images within the template of the site. Is there any easy solution for this?

    Many thanks,

    Alex

I am a bit confused about your question...
Let's not mix here the "templates". The template are there for showing your blog in its 'clothing'.

You have pictures in your posts.
When you upload an image and you prepare to "Send to editor" - usually you should see 3 options:
    a. Linked to image
    b. Linked to file
    c. Not linked
Depending on what you choose - it will be displayed in the post (c); a pic linking to another pic (a); or displayed on a WP "page" (called attachment).

But be aware that if your content area is for example 400px wide, there is NO WAY you can display a 900px wide "full size" picture in it!

So, try to re-phrase your question...

Sorry, let me try to clarify. I wish to include images "Using Thumbnail". However, when the user clicks on the thumbnail, rather than it taking them to the file itself, I'd like it to display within the framework of my wordpress layout (without the post).

Ideally I'd like to have all of the linked images within a post display the images within my wordpress template when the user clicks on them (as if they were a separate WP page). All of my images are resized to fit the size & format of my site, so I'm not worried about that.

    Thanks for your reply!

And what happened when you tried the the point b. I have suggested above? I always expect users to try the suggested solution BEFORE talking back...

Alex/filicide: I think what you're trying to do is this:

I sent you an e-mail via your site, but just in case anybody else has this issue, which I did as well. Although moshu is correct, if your content area isn't big enough, yer sorta stuck unless you use an attachment.php file to form a template for it. Good luck.
