Support » Plugin: Matador Jobs Lite » displaying fields in addition to job description

    Hi,

I’ve been trying to customise the jobs page that a user clicks on from the list of jobs but any customisation I make is not showing up.
I’m assuming it’s the job-aside.php file I need to update and I’ve uploaded it as per the instructions to /themes/my-theme/matador/job-aside.php .
Am I customising the wrong file or missing something? I added <p>test</p> to the <header> as a test.

    Thanks

    Hello!

So, to make sure I have your question understood, you want to change the look/feel of the job single page? If so, you will simply need to create a single template in your theme. Here is the official WordPress.org explaination:

    https://developer.wordpress.org/themes/template-files-section/custom-post-type-template-files/

And here is Matador’s documentation on it:

    https://matadorjobs.com/support/documentation/theme-templates/

The job-aside.php template only affects the structure of the single job when displayed from our [matador_job] shortcode. The shortcode is used to embed a job into a sidebar and/or a blog post, hence how it is an “aside”.

I hope this helps! Let us know if you have further questions.

    Hello,

Thank you very much, you were correct I did want to change the job single page.

I must have missed the point about the job-single and job-aside only affecting the matador shortcodes in the docs. I have now successfully customised my job single template.

    Thanks again.
