 * Hello,
 * Is there any way to display the events as regular posts on the homepage? What
   I want to do is display posts and event together with featured image and some
   metadata (such as author, date …) ordered by date. They all list with same look
   on the homepage.

 * 1) You will need to set the EM Settings to show events as posts, not as pages,
   otherwise the metadata is not included.
    2) There are several plugins that you
   can use to include custom post types in the normal WP Post loop.
